Randi N. Gray has spent nearly 25 years in information technology, rising from technical support to senior leadership. She began during the Y2K era and quickly found her footing in financial technology, where she led IPO software implementations, technical training, and documentation for some of Wall Street’s largest institutions—among them Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Bear Stearns—as well as the New York Mercantile Exchange. That early proving ground taught her something she has carried ever since: that high stakes reward calm preparation, not noise.
From there she moved through retail and healthcare technology as a security engineer, building controls for HIPAA-HITECH compliance, before making her mark in education technology—most notably building an IT department from the ground up at Teachers Pay Teachers, the world’s largest online educational resources marketplace. Today she serves as Director of IT for Merit Beauty, a cosmetics brand where she is the company’s entire technology department—making every systems, security, and infrastructure decision for roughly 150 employees across multiple locations, here and abroad. She knows the “department of one” reality firsthand, because she lives it.
That experience is the foundation of her work as Founder and CEO of Stronger Systems Group, where she helps women leaders and mission-driven organizations adopt AI in ways that are practical, ethical, and confidence-building. Her approach is grounded in something she has proven, not theorized: that lean operations don’t have to mean limited impact, and that the right systems let a small team punch far above its size.
Randi’s leadership extends well beyond the workplace. She has been a member of the largest historically African-American sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., for 30 years, holding leadership roles throughout, and currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for her town’s public library. She builds communities as readily as she builds systems—and speaks and trains on AI, automation, and workforce readiness for leaders who don’t have time to waste and can’t afford to get it wrong.
