Titan Spotlight: Marjorie Mesidor — A Fierce Advocate For Workplace Justice
Who Is Marjorie Mesidor?
Before the verdicts.
Before the accolades.
Before the national recognition.
There was a woman who refused to accept silence as the price of survival.
Marjorie Mesidor is the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Mesidor PLLC, a nationally respected employment and workplace discrimination law firm. But her story does not begin in a courtroom or behind a firm name. It begins with a deep, personal understanding of power—who holds it, who is denied it, and what happens when it is abused.
Widely known as “The Harassment Slayer,” a moniker coined by a former client after witnessing her command and precision during a deposition, Marjorie is a fearless advocate for employees confronting discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and systemic misconduct. Her results are extraordinary—more than $87 million in verdicts and settlements—but her true impact lies elsewhere: in restoring dignity, voice, and justice to workers whose experiences were too often dismissed or ignored.
From the very start of her legal career, Marjorie saw what many chose not to see. Employees were being harassed, marginalized, and quietly pushed out not because they were wrong, but because they were vulnerable. Their stories were minimized. Their pain reduced to procedure. Their voices treated as inconvenient.
Marjorie decided they deserved better.
“Employees deserve more than policies on paper.
They deserve real protection—and real advocates.”
That belief became her mission.
Building an Advocate When None Existed
Marjorie did not inherit power.
She built it.
Armed with a Juris Doctor from Touro Law School and a global academic foundation from Franklin University Switzerland, Marjorie entered the legal profession with both technical precision and cultural fluency. Fluent in English, French, Haitian Creole, and Italian, she was uniquely positioned to serve workers whose stories were often unheard—not only legally, but linguistically and culturally.
Early in her career, Marjorie distinguished herself as a relentless advocate in employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and civil rights matters—earning a reputation for taking on complex, high-stakes cases and prevailing. In 2013, she changed the law when she secured a unanimous jury verdict in Johnson v. STRIVE, a landmark case that definitively established that individuals of the same race can discriminate against one another under anti-discrimination laws. In 2018, she obtained a $2.31 million jury verdict in Sooroojballie v. Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for race- and national origin–based hostile work environment claims. With a 97% success rate across her practice, Marjorie has consistently taken on corporations, agencies, and institutions that relied on silence and power imbalance to protect themselves—and forced accountability where it was long denied.
Eventually, Marjorie made a defining decision:
If the system would not protect employees, she would build one that would.
She founded Mesidor PLLC with a singular, uncompromising purpose—to eradicate workplace injustice and hold power accountable until protection, equity, and dignity are so embedded in workplaces that firms like hers become obsolete—#UntilWereObsolete.
Her excellence has been recognized at the highest levels of the legal profession. Chambers and Partners USA 2025 ranks Marjorie among New York’s leading plaintiff-side employment attorneys, and Mesidor PLLC was honored in the Chambers Spotlight 2026. She is a 2025 Herald Top Lawyers Honoree in Employment & Discrimination Law, recognized by Best Lawyers (2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026), a recipient of the Long Island Business News Leaders in Law Award, and a recurring honoree on the Long Island Press Power List, reflecting her sustained influence and leadership in the legal community.
Presented by the Haitian American Lawyers Association of New York, Marjorie has also received the Judge Raymond Lohier Pinnacle Legal Award, which is one of the organization’s highest honors, named for Judge Raymond J. Lohier Jr., the first Haitian American appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. The award recognizes attorneys whose careers exemplify exceptional legal excellence, integrity, and a sustained commitment to civil rights and justice—values that define Marjorie’s work and leadership. In January 2026, Marjorie was honored by the NAACP Islip–Smithtown Branch at its 12th Annual Long Island Legacy Gala, recognizing her contributions to civil rights, workplace justice, and community empowerment.
Her trial excellence has also earned repeated national distinction. Marjorie has been named a Civil Rights Trial Lawyers Association Top 10 Attorney (2024, 2025 and 2026), a National Women Trial Lawyers Top 25 Attorney (2024, 2025), a National Trial Lawyers Top 100 honoree (2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025), and a National Black Lawyers Top 100 attorney (2025)—a rare level of consecutive, cross-organization recognition that underscores her standing among the nation’s elite trial advocates.
Her expertise is also regularly sought by national media. Marjorie serves as a legal correspondent for Court TV and has been featured in TIME, NPR, Reuters, Bloomberg Law, NBC News, CBS News, Fox News, Law360, and other top-tier outlets cementing her reputation as a trusted authority on workplace justice, culture, and equity.
Beyond litigation and media leadership, Marjorie is deeply committed to shaping the future of the profession. She founded the Mesidor Pierre Louis Law Fellowship, an initiative dedicated to developing the next generation of plaintiff-side employment advocates by fully funding the tuition of its scholars and removing financial barriers that too often limit access to the legal profession—ensuring long-term excellence and equity in employee-rights advocacy.
